Nigel is a Chartered Accountant and 50% Shareholder
and Director of The Business Advisory Group Ltd, a new new boutique
practice started four years ago after 25 years with Ernst &
Young (Arthur Young), retiring his partnership in 2006 where he
provided a comprehensive range of business and accounting services
and advice to Auckland SMEs.
Nigel is a Chairman and non executive Director of two
significant family owned Auckland companies and is a Director of a
number of other client companies. He is also Trustee and
adviser to a number of family Trusts.
In addition to his Directorship roles, Nigel specialises in
assisting businesses with their tax planning and ensuring the
business ownership structures are commercially robust, tax
efficient and provide maximum protection from potential creditor
claims. Nigel also undertakes business reviews to help owners
identify any weaknesses in their business and to determine a
potential action plan to take the businesses to the "next
level."
Nigel is one of the founding Trustees and Chair of the Arts
Regional Trust, a Trust established by the Mayors of Auckland and
Manukau City to foster and encourage arts and culture in the
Auckland Region.
Nigel is also on the Board of Trustees of a decile one school in
South Auckland known as Southern Cross Campus and he has also been
recently elected as Director of NZ Sculpture OnShore which is a
biennial exhibition of the works of major New Zealand
sculptors. He is also a Director of Denarau Resort Management
Limited, a Fiji local company to operate the body corporate
function of the infrastructure and accommodation for the Radisson
Resort Denarau Island Fiji.
He's a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the
Institute of Directors and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Secretaries (NZ) Inc and has completed - Chairing of
the Board (IOD course - Wellington).
Outside of business, Nigel's interests include reading, art
collection, boating and travel.
